I've been trying to find the best solution to activating Office 2013 on my test network. I tried some of the virtual .iso's and haven't had much luck along with attempting to search the forum with the 10K links I got back, nothing seemed to fit. I recall back when I had Office 2010 that one of the KMS Activation tools similar to the Microsoft Toolkit installations on one computer could also be used as a KMS server to activate other host machines. Can I use KMSPico or the latest Microsoft Toolkit to do this or is there a better way?? My hope is that there is something I can install in a VM that my antivirus won't pick up that can make that VM a KMS server similarly to the Office 2010 solution from the past. Thanks for anyone that can help!!!

There are so many lists for updates need to be integrated into install.wim for up-to-date ISO but there is not such a similar list for boot.wim (& winre.wim).
Just curious to know which updates should be integrated into boot.wim (mostly index 2) to bring it to date?

Unable to detect Network Card in Linux
I have bought an ethical hacking course which instructed me to install Kali Linus in VMWare Player
So I did that and set it up but when I run iwconfig in the console, it finds no network cards.
They did mention in the course that it wouldn't work with internal cards and I need an external USB Wireless Card.
So I plugged in my ASUS USB-AC56 wireless card then waited for a while then ran iwconfig again but it still sees no card.
how can I make it install the card?

SSD Paranoia & EFI System Partition
Most setup today uses SSD and HDD combination. Basically, SSD for the OS and HDD for some program files and documents.
My question is regarding the EFI System partition created when you first install Windows 10.
When I install Windows 10, I used the whole SSD with a single primary partition only (GPT). With this kind of setup, Windows 10 then created the Recovery partition and EFI System partition in the HDD (GPT also).
So my question is, does the system boot first to the EFI System partition or directly to the Windows?

LiquidVPN Review
When I first started using VPN services, I wanted a VPN that doesn't slow my connection down otherwise my 100mbps Down/20 mbps up connection would just be sitting there wasted.
So I tried a lot of paid VPNs and finally settled for StrongVPN, it was super fast and gave me almost the same speed as my actual connection.
I usually download movies to see them before I buy them, not knowing that was illegal back then (few years back), StrongVPN send me DMCA notices and I was about to get sued but the case was cancelled and StrongVPN just told DMCA that I had a virus which was downloading those movies. They did warn me though any more downloads of copy righted content and my account would be suspended.
Fine, I understand that from a legal point of view that they need to protect their service as well. But then come think of it, the VPN did NOT protect my privacy as they did handout my details to DMCA so I was on for a search for a new VPN. Not many choices were there that fully protect you and have a 0 logging policy.

Next, I signed up with Private Internet Access (PIA) which was also very fast as it was still a new VPN relatively, one subscription allows you to connect up to 5 devices simultaneously so I could have my PC, tablet, phones, all connected at once for like 8 USD per month, not a bad deal.
Never have they sent me any DMCA notices so privacy wise, it wasn't bad (from my experience at least).
After the service became popular though, the speeds were horrible, sometimes I would be lucky to get 30 MBPS down out of my 1000 MBPS connection and at other times it would go all the way down to 5 MBPS.
I contacted their pathetic chat support and every time, the only solution they can think of is for my to change my DNS servers in the connection. That didn't help one bit so I gave up on it and was on a new hunt for another VPN.

Finally, I discovered LiquidVPN and decided to give them a shot. First I asked them about their privacy policy and they confirmed they have a 0 logging policy and that I am protected. So I signed up and to my surprise, I was getting north of 93 MBPS down out of mt 100 MBPS speed and the full 20 MBPS upload.
So this was the best for me, a VPN that protects me, yet doesn't slow my connection down.
I once had an issue with random disconnections, maybe it wasn't because of the VPN but I didn't know.
So I contacted their support and they connected to my system, performed some tests and told me that I need to change my router I was having data packet loss. Had some Linksys router before, then I upgraded to an ASUS RT-AC68U router and the random disconnections disappeared but what really impressed me is that they took the time to login to my system to troubleshoot the problem not only email support. It is very rare that a company would go this far into resolving a customer's problem.
They have a 0 logging policy and never did I receive any warnings or DMCA notices while using their VPN service.
They just released their Android app as well and now my VOIP calls are super clear with no disconnections.
Their app allows you to connect via PPTP, SSTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN and has an option called Liquid Lock if you want which basically disables your internet connectivity if you were not connected to the VPN server for maximum privacy (optional feature)
Pricing is very reasonable, 4.75 USD (yearly plan) per month for 2 devices connected at the same time although they have a higher plan for upto 8 devices.
Just wanted to share my experience with you guys for anyone who is looking for a great VPN service.
They have trial plans if one is interested also he just needs to create an account and contact them.
Just connected to the Netherlands/Ablasserdam PPTP server and downloaded Linux Mint
Check the download speed, it is giving me the full speed of my 100MBPS connection, also see the RAM usage while at full load:

I will admit, its been ages... so I could be remembering wrong...
BUT, I could swear I had seen and/or used a tool that someone had made that allowed you to change the installed edition of Vista (sans reinstall)...
Now I don't remember the FULL details, IE if this was something that could was done with the system booted or if it had to be done from a live boot CD (like hirens) or it was a script not a program ect ect...
I jumped from Vista to 7 as SOON as it launched, I try not to recall Vista days, but I have a laptop for someone, they have a Vista Ultimate COA... so... bleh..
And its an HP...

My new headset not recording System Audio Help.
I use Audacity and I would use WASAPI and did not need Stereo Mix enabled with my old headset. Now with my new headset I have to use Stereo Mix, WASAPI won't work anymore, pretty weird issue to say the least. I installed Asus RealtekDriver 6.0.1.7354 I record in Mono. My mic boost is at +0.0db. I plugged in green jack in headphone port to record system audio and it does not work. I had no issue with my old headset recording system audio. Now I have an issue with this new headset. Any help woukd be appreciated. Here is the new headset I bought from Amazon. If you want to buy this headset for yourselves I highly recommend them, they sound great and mic picks up sound really well.

OSX installation
Hi
Have been trying for 2 days to do a fresh install on a Mac book Pro 13" 2011.
Its original OSX was lion
Heres my issue
Have fitted a new Hard Drive ( so no recovery partition available )
The internet recovery will not run as it keeps asking for Apple ID and password when entered keeps saying UNAVAILABLE
( apparently a well known problem )
I DO NOT have access to any other MACs or Apple products just the Apple needing the OSX install.
Have tried several methods with memory sticks and downloaded .dmg files using Transmac prepared on PC but these seem to fail
( installation starts then get circle with diagonal line through it ) this still happens with 2 different hard drives tried.
Really at a loss to what to try next ?
Open to suggestions ( why are Macs so complicated to recover ???? :(

[SOLVED] Windows 10 upgrade stalled at 32%
If you run into this problem, read on.
I just upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10 through the popup.
The installation would always fail at 32% of the full completion, and 6% of the sub-install for "Installing devices and drivers" or something like this. At 30% installation, the screen would be at a blurry low resolution, maybe something like 640x480. Then at 32% the screen would flash, as if it recognized higher resolution and my graphics drivers were loaded. Then it would hang. I would have to do a hard power down by holding the power button. On the restart, the computer would then detect that the installation failed and revert me back to Win8.1.
Googling shows this is a common error. The recommendation is to update your drivers. I went to Lenovo's site, downloaded new gfx drivers and installed. The install would complete, but Device Manger would still show the old drivers. I tried through Lenovo's "System Update" utility too. Same thing. Install would complete, restart, check "System Update" again and the same drivers were show up as needed.
What I had to do was, go into the BIOS and turn off my NVIDIA Optimus settings. I changed it so the system was only using the Integrated graphics (Intel 1000 chip or something) instead of the Discrete NVIDIA graphics. This allowed me to successfully update my drivers. And then to install Win10
Just a heads up for those who had this problem
